BSBP Reveal
I just returned from a trip after being gone for 2 weeks. I worked on this necklace when I had a chance, which was only one day while I was away. I used the focal and the clasp with some of the beads she sent in this necklace along with, of course, seed beads! I am working on another piece using more of the pieces Holly sent me. I'll post it soon, so check back to see it.
The Bead Soup Blog Party was a lot of fun. This was truly a bit of a challenge for me using the focal bead, but I am happy with how it turned out. I love the copper color and the earthy tones in this with just a bit of glass in the combination. Nice selection Holly.
I just started looking at all the reveals and love the diversity that's displayed. Such beautiful beads and nice work. Great eye candy! So inspirational. I love reading all the blogs and feeling so welcomed by the authors. Thanks so much to Lori for creating this great opportunity to meet such wonderful and talented people. Please check out the beautiful works here. And go see what my partner Holly at Silverrose Designs created with the beads I sent her. I love what she did!

Gourd Spirit Earthy Blues
I finished my Beading for a Cure piece and sent it off today. I am always up for donating my creativity to a great cause. I decided to make a gourd doll and I was very delighted with the final result.
These were the beads I was sent.
This is what I did with them.
I call her "Gourd Spirit Earthy Blues"
I love challenges and I love creating. Hopefully the recipient of this will enjoy her as much as I enjoyed creating her.

Studio Tour
So now that I'm back from the show, I have much work to do for the lovely ladies that wanted something special. Thank you all so much for visiting me and purchasing my creations. I am truly grateful.
One other thing that happened this time around is how many compliments I received on my booth. Several people, not just one or two, told me how fabulous my area looked. Here's a photo of what I had.

This was truly my best show to date.
Many of my museum quality pieces found homes. So grateful for that. I hated to part with many of them and I am happy not only that the new owner just loved them, but that they will be well cared for and enjoyed. Puts a smile in my heart and makes me happy to do that for someone else too!
Bead Soup arrived!
Well, I've been busy for the past week since the Summer BI Studio Tour ended but I did get my Soup in the mail from Holly Westfall. She sent some wonderful goodies to play with.
This is what they look like with all the items tagged.
Love the copper!
Fantastic earthy scheme here, don't you agree?
This is what they look like after I removed the tags.
I will definitely have fun playing with these beauties. Working with wire elements is not my usual style, so this is definitely out my 'working' zone for now. But not to fear...I am creative and the juices are already flowing on what to make with this. Actually, I may make more than one piece! Thank you so much Holly!!! I love these pieces and your copper work is absolutely incredible.
Now, for what I sent to Holly...
It's easy to see that we are both playing with similar color schemes. More proof that creative minds can connect even before we do make contact with each other. Love that!
So stay tuned to see what I come up with here. And don't forget to check out Holly's work and her fabulous blog Silver Rose Designs. You will probably stay there for a while, so grab a cuppa... She has the most wonderful photos of flowers in addition to her fabulous style of jewelry. Have fun.

Summer is finally here!
So today is August 4th. We finally have a Summer here in the PNW. It's been so very cold and wet this Spring and up until this week. We finally got some much needed heat and sun. Everything is nice and green though!
I've been so busy preparing for the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour. I am once again at Cecil's Studio and I love him and the environment there. Next weekend is when it happens, so I hope the Summer weather will stay.
I have a new booth set up in the works. I'll post pictures once I have more time.

Visitors
Today is so strange feeling. First, over the weekend we had these turkey visitors. Don't know where they came from, but they arrived Friday afternoon and spent the night in the trees, one of them actually fell out of the tree, and then they were there in the yard the following morning. They must have come from someone's yard. Not sure why they came to hang with us though. They didn't seem to be afraid of people. They just acted like we were all friends. Go figure...maybe they knew we are vegetarians! LOL!

And today, there were 3 or 4 Bald Eagles landing in the yard with about 6 or 7 huge Ravens. Not sure what is going on, but the energy is feeling rather thick and full right now. Must be the recent super moon and the aspects today. I really feel something is about to happen and if the birds are any indication, I could be right. The other animals in the neighborhood all seem to be on edge too. I hope we are not going to have an earthquake. Usually animals are the first to know, especially birds.

Anonymous Quote
I saw this quote today and loved it!
for they become words.
Be careful with your words,
for they become actions.
Be careful with your actions,
for they become habits.
Be careful with your habits,
for they become your character.
And be careful with your character,
for that becomes your destiny."

Ebay Sales are moving along!
My ebay sales are moving right along. I am happy to be moving some of my magazine stash. I also have some books listed right now. Soon I'll be listing some more of my supplies that I have been saving for that special project. Alas, I have been saving them for a bit too long and I don't think I will be using them after all. As the years go by, my style and focus changes so I would much rather some other creative person have access to them.

I have been working on another doll that I received in the Beaded Art Doll swap.
This is the doll I received from Sherry. I've been beading for a couple of weeks now and this guy really has an attitude. He is a Shaman and he has been healing me all along the way. I'll post pictures of him when I am finished.

"Soyala" - Winter doll

This is "Soyala" my Winter Wonderland Challenge Doll for the Beaded Art Dolls group. It finally stopped snowing long enough for me to go out with her and photograph her in the snow. I think it's appropriate that she be in the snow...I mean after all she is a Winter Goddess! I chose her name "Soyala" from the Hopi language meaning Time of Winter Solstice as I thought it was a lovely name for her.
Winter!
Winter is still here and we have snow today. I haven't seen snow for a couple of months, just rainy with sun showers. It's so very pretty when it first covers the ground. I've been beading next to my window all morning and watching the snow fall. It hasn't been falling much, but it just started to really cover everything. A picture....
I've been busy listing some of my magazine stash on my ebay site and sales are going well. Now that I'm finished with my little doll (picture to come soon), I will list some more. I have lots of Stampington titles that I am releasing from my stash along with some beading titles. They are really a good deal for those that have won some of the bids because those mags still cost quite a bit as back issues.

Valentine Mermaid
Today is Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day to all. Love is all around us every day, reach out and you can touch it.

I belong to a yahoo group called Beaded Art Dolls and recently we had a doll form exchange. I received 2 really cute forms. This is the one I received from Joetta. Thank you Joetta! She is so sweet with such a sweet face.
I worked on her over the weekend and created this little Valentine Mermaid.

First post of the New Year 2011.
New Year and new ideas. I have been busy working on a beaded art doll. I'm almost finished and will post a photo the.
As this New Year moves forward, so do my ideas and already there seems to be too many ideas for the time available. 24 hours in a day and the days are going so fast now. I'm a pretty fast beader and I still don't seem to get through my beadwork as soon as I would imagine.
I've also been working through my shelves of magazines and I will probably put lots of them up for sale. I'm not sure which venue to choose for that though, my Artfire site, my Etsy site or on ebay. I may try ebay first, then go on to another choice. I have lots of Beadwork, Bead & Button, Quilting Arts, several Stampington titles, including Art Doll Quarterly and Belle Armoire. If I get any suggestions from this post, that will help me decide. Any ideas?

Time is moving so much faster these days as are my ideas coming fast and furious. have so many ideas and such little time to accomplish them. I can barely keep up with writing them down.

My Artfire site!
My Artfire site is now active! Yippee...I finally put some items there. I created my shop quite some time ago and life just got in the way before I could upload any items there. Finally I have some things listed and will keep listing more and more as time goes on.
